fuel pressure problem 1994 xj12
Hi, My wife has a 1994 Jaguar xj 12 that i am working on. The car was running and driving and we parked it. Sat outside for a year which did it no good.
Never again! Water in the tank, so i siphoned out the gas and put 5 gallons of fresh in along with bottle of sea foam. I also removed the fuel filter and unhook fuel lines on engine and blew out lines.
Installed new filter. Car wouldn't even try to start. Removed filter and had someone turn key forward while i watched for fuel pressure and barely a drip out of fuel line from tank.
Checked fuses. Removed tank and emptied fuel. Looks like two pumps inside. Plugged in wiring and turned key forward. Pump on passenger side activates, but drivers side doesn't.
Haven't pulled them yet to inspect anything. Looks like some rubber fuel hoses going back and forth. Does anyone know if both pumps should kick on or what i should check.
Called a jaguar dealer and their tech said he had no idea there was two pumps and basically had no advice at all. I read another thread and someone said the pumps themselves are in those white cylinder modules.
Any advice?
