Hi, I live in Donna, Texas and really know nothing about these beautiful cars.
The reason I am here is to help a Learning Disabled friend whom inherited a 1991 XJS V-12 Classic Jaguar Coup, but can no longer care for it and is looking to sell it.

Welcome Gem. If you could post some pictures, and a good description, or as much as you know, or can find out. It would sure help us figure out if you have a Pig in a poke, or a Diamond in the rough??? Give us something to work with, and we'll do our best to help.

Hi Jack, I uploaded three pics, but have no idea what happened to them, lol.
it was garage kept till last year. But has a cover over it to protect it.
it has 38,000 miles with a clear clean Title. The car is located in Hazlet, New Jersey, but for health reasons my friend had to move to Texas and can no longer take care for it. I thank you for any help u may be able to give me, Julie

Welcome to the forum Gem20037,

I've deleted your advertisment in CLASSIFIEDS and merged your 3 separate photo posts in this thread.

The forum primarily exists to help owners and enthusiasts maintain and repair their vehicles. The PRIVATE For Sale / Trade or Buy Classifieds forum is a service to members and is not an alternative to Craigslist or ebay. Before you post there again, please read and abide by the rules:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/p...ellers-100730/

Note in particular that there is a minimum period of membership and number of posts required before a member can post in CLASSIFIEDS.

A newbie posting adverts is normally banned immediately and their posts deleted. I have some sympathy for the circumstances of your posting about this XJS and have not taken this action.

Graham

Julie,

I suggest you don't rush into a sale unless circumstances absolutely dictate it.

The photos indicate a car in very good condition prior to the accidental damage. XJS values are on the rise and it is becoming an increasingly sought after model.

Repair is the ideal before selling but this may not be an option. Determining and then obtaining a fair price will depend on the cost of repair. Some investigation on what is required in the way of parts will assist here.

Provenance adds considerably to the value of older Jaguars. Bills and evidence of maintenance history both improve the chances of a sale and increase the price.

If you start a thread in XJS forum (https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xjs-x27-32/), members there with the same model will be able to help you assess a realistic value and how best to market the vehicle. Some may even consider making an offer.

Graham

Nice car except for the OOOPPPPSSSSS! I take it someone backed into it? It doesn't look to terribly bad. Mostly a hood, the hinge, the headlight assemblies, bezel, the bumper and center chrome piece. Finding the parts could be a tough task by yourself, and then finding someone to repair it correctly and paint it, is a stretch. Beings you aren't a car person. The only way to get any real money out of it, is after it's repaired. Otherwise it's whatever you can get??? I'd guess a couple thousand, as it sets??? Maybe a little more where it's at "Hazlet New Jersey", because it looks to be rust free. Good Luck.

Jack

Hi Jack ty for all ur input. It's an honest opinion I respect and thank you for your warm welcome to the forum.
I agree the work will be tricky, but I am sure we will find a way to get it back to it's original beauty. Yes sadly it happened while parked out side, lol. Good thing is it is only cosmetic.
Yes, it sits in Jersey, true no rust.
It was garage kept and pampered all its life, until last year. Owner has all the maintance records, original paperwork from the showroom purchase, it has 38 000 miles, mint paint (with the exception of the OOPPPSSSSS..., lol) and mint interior, with a clean and clear Title. Now it only has a cover for protection. She's had only 1 owner, then inherited by my friend.
We can definitely say this was the last of it's kind, Roadster style that is with no back seat.
This XJS is #1 of a 5 car, Jaguar Gold series made for the USA in that year. Lol, not sure if I said that correctly. Hahaha... From what I have been able to find out, from the owner, is there are only three XJS's of this series left in existence. Not sure if that's correct, but that was what I was told.
The emblem and pinstripe is made in Italian Gold. The leaper my friend added later, from his first Jag, but the Medallion is original to this car.
Sincerely, I think he has a priceless heirloom that needs to be well cared for, treasured and cherished, for what it truly is, a trademark of history, of what life should be like... FREE!
oooh heavy, lmao, on that note, again thank you for ur warm welcome, Jack. Julie
