The silver handle has come off the glove box. Does anyone know how to open the glove box and replace the handle please?

Default Glove Box - X-Type 2004

Hello - the plastic silver latch broke on our glove box. I got the lid open. How do I replace the lock and latch?

My suspicion is that the whole handle case frame comes out. However, I don't know how it is connected to the latch for opening and closing the glove box.

BTW, anyone know what the little piece to the left of the handle is? If you push on the bottom it opens up like a coat hook hanger, but it doesn't seem strong enough to support enough weight to hang a bag or anything on it.

Always check the date on a thread (circled in red below) before posting. This one is well over a year old.

You will get advice on the 'coat hook' by posting the question in in X-Type tech forum.
