Greetings from the land of Jack Daniels whiskey.
Hello forum members! My name is John and I just recently bought a 2008 XJ8 short wheelbase Jag that had lived its whole life in sunny Florida. Only 76k miles on it. Was well taken care of by Jag dealer and high end European repair shops. Only item not factory part is the front air struts were replaced with Arnott units a few years ago.
Myself, I do all my own work. I have a 30ft x 40ft shop out behind my house that has a lift and all my various tools. The only thing I can't do is mount tires and do alignments. I will be looking for advice and tips on doing some things to the Jag to bring all service things up to date so I have a good starting point.
I spent 20 years in advanced automotive plastics in Detroit before moving to beautiful Tennessee in 2007. I am currently restoring and upgrading a 1969 Fiat 500L, and have a 1966 Maserati Mistral that is waiting for me to start restoring it.
I looked for about two years for the right XJ8 and found it this March in Florida. Flew down, bought it and drove it 12 hours back to Tennessee.
I love the car.

WELCOME to the forum!
I live in Virginia but if I ever was going to move someplace else, it would be Tennessee. My wife has family in the Cornersville/Pulaski area and we have visited that part of the state many times, we have been to Franklin and Columbia, and even toured the Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg on one trip. Other Tennessee spots where we've spent time include Nashville, Memphis, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.
Here's wishing you a wonderful ownership experience with your XJ8. It looks like a real beauty!

Hello, John,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar!
That's the Best way to get to know your new Jag; drive it several hours home, a Shakedown if you will.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
