Arrow Greetings from Monterey - A New Member

Good day,

I purchased a 1999 XJR with 190,000 miles on it 2 months ago. It is in very good condition,... In fact, it was so well taken care of that the timing tensioners were still the original plastic! My first major repair and the reason for devoted reference to this forum!

Thank you for all the help so far! Look forward to getting busy on here!

My "to do" list:

-Find Rims (want to keep the weight down, but would like something around 19")

-Replace upper shock bushings (have started to read about DYI kit)

-Shorten Supercharger Belt 10% performance boost?

-Download Computer Performance Control Upgrade?

Oh, I forgot to mention replacing the Harmon Kardon speaker on the boot deck,...

Currently I need to re-weather seal the driver's side door, replace the rearview mirror (autodim failure), and replace a cracked turn signal lens. Damn Bicycle,... All of those parts are either with me or on the way so I didn't list them previously.

Cheers!

190k with original tensioners? Wow that is impressive.

Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you have picked up quite the car. Enjoy

Default Tensioner Video

Btw, I was wondering how I would upload a video taken under the hood of my XJR before the tensioner job. It sounds really bad and maybe others want to hear it,...

You can't upload video direct to the forum. The easiest way to include it in your posts is through a link to YouTube to display it with a click. Alternatively, include a link to OnLine storage where readers can download it.
