Default Greetings from Oz

Hi there forum buddies. I live just out of Melbourne Australia, and I'm hoping to purchase a 2004+ S-Type very soon. I have to sell my CB1100R first, but that is progressing well. I currently have a '72 Triumph TR6, and I'm looking at the Jag for when the weather turns cold (as it has here at the moment). From what research I've done so far, it appears that the 2004+ models are slightly improved in a few areas over the earlier ones?
Not sure if I should jump right in to a question here or not, but would it be worthwhile/acceptable/practical to take a scanner with me when looking at potential cars in order to get a better idea of what I may be getting into?
Anyway, I've got a few forums to peruse in my quest for knowledge, and look forward to adding what I can when I can.

cheers

Welcome to the forum Ian,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. The TR6 looks superb.

I ALWAYS ask if I can put my scantool on a potential purchase. It tells me more than a vendor either knows or is willing to divulge. A refusal is also informative!

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/ to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

You can also visit the Australia - Victoria/Tasmania Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...a-tasmania-94/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Thanks Graham. Good to know I'm not alone in requesting a pre-purchase scan ;-) The TR has won a couple of trophies for me, and I'm very happy with it, but it does lack some creature comforts. Hence my quest for the Jag.

Thanks Norri. Once I've bought my Jag, I'll certainly enter the details, but until then, it's temporarily vacant ;-)

Hello, Ian,
I always Luvved British roadsters, always wanted a TR. Alas, all I ever got was a Datsun roadster which I drove the wheels off and then sold. But mine wasn't RED like yours, and wasn't nearly as well done. Beautiful car.

I wish you success in your search for the Perfect S-type,

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
