Welcome to the forum!

I was in Singapore about a month ago and didn't see many Jags, mostly boring BMWs and Mercs so I'm sure you'll get some looks.

Yes, you are right ccfulton..I'm a past 5 series owner before...I know what u mean. First few weeks after getting the XF...there were lots of stares on the street. Even my co workers asked to see and ride in it. My other pal took one look at it and subsequently ordered one the following week, ditching his plan to buy another Merc to replace his old one. I really love this ride..my best so far.
I think this latest facelift makes the front profile even nicer......IMHO.

I just saw a video on the internet about car prices in Singapore. A Subaru BR-Z is US$130K, A BMW 6 is US$330K. Unbelievable. Is that true, Oris? And I thought Denmark, where a Ford Focus is over US$50K, was the limit for highest car taxes and resulting prices. So that would put your Jaguar XF diesel at somewhere in the US$200K-plus range? Not that you need to tell us what you paid. But man, that is an expensive country in which to own a car. I think I'd forgo a car, take public transport (which apparently is the whole idea behind the colossal car taxes) and when I traveled abroad rent luxury sport cars and feel like I was getting a bargain.

Yes you are right. My XF cost me approx €130K. The reason the cost of cars are high here is because we have this thing called a certificate of entitlement (coe). This is to limit the number of cars in our island nation to prevent a grid lock. The coe is an open bidding system for all who want to buy a new car. It's also valid for 10yrs only. So if u want a car...u pay for it. Good thing about here is you don't need a car...public transport is great but as a petrol head...what's life without one. . Unlike most countries our tax structure is not as high...so if u want a car you pay the price..if u don't have one...u pay less tax. Our highest tax bracket here is only about 22% I believe. So even with the higher price of a car here factored in ..one's tax will not be more than 25% anyway...well that's how I look at it..
