Smile Greetings from SW Michigan

I recently purchased my first Jaguar this weekend. It's a 2004 S-type 4.2l with only 64500 miles on it. I have owned GM vehicles exclusively for the past 25 years but have always admired Jaguars. Now that I have one, I lament what I have missed over the years. What a fun car to drive. Soon I'll get to see how it handles in the snow.

I always perform my own repair work, so I have been reading from this site for the past several days and am impressed with the wealth of knowledge contained here. Once I get my hands on a service manual, I am confident that I can handle anything that comes up.

Cheers

Good to have you with us.
It sounds like you found the tech section already S-Type / S type R Supercharged V8 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

Hi Gunmucker - welcome to the forum and greetings from the Midwest Region. I'm not sure if the s-type is RWD... but I just put snow tires on my XJ6 and am preparing to see how it goes also! I've never done a winter in a Jag.

Congrats on the purchase, and welcome to the club!
Scott

Thank you. Yes, it is RWD. We shall see how it does in the snow soon enough.

Welcome to the forum Gunmucker,

Sounds like you've already found your way around here.

As you do your own repair work, the JTIS (Jaguar Technical Information System) electronic service manual is going to be a big help. Full details on downloading it in this thread - https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/g...rchives-65926/

Enjoy the S-type and the forum.

Graham
