Default grinding vibration when accelearting from stop

I have a jaguar 2005 jaguar s-type 4.2 101,000 miles, runs pretty good no major problems, about 3 days ago i started to feel a vibration/ grinding feeling when accelrating from a stop then today i also heard some sort of rattle as accelarting. Could this be the transmission??
