Default Happy to have found your site

I have a 1994 XJ12 or XJ40 or XJ81 or..... ??? I have not yet found a reliable way to tell. It has square headlights, a 6.0 liter V12, left had drive, coffee and cream color configuration. Also has a glove box on the passenger's side versus an airbag and a console lid without cup holders. Just an armrest type of console. My other car is a 1997 Mercedes E420. I have had my kitty for nine years and it has been quite the experience. Any assist in finding out exactly what I havce and the rarity of it would be appreciated. Also, I live in Kentucky. I love to play racquetball, baseball and guns. I love my fiancee and my kids. I am a good bowler and a horrible golfer. I enjoy cooking and baking. I hope to share my experience with my kitty and hope to hear many of yours. I am also a shade tree mechanic and am adept at some portions of repair. Thanks, Jeff

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like XJ81, but not sure.

Given the model code XJ81, the XJ40-based XJ12 and Daimler Double Six were introduced in 1993 and powered by a 6.0L version of Jaguar's V12 engine, mated to a GM 4L80E 4-speed automatic gearbox. It could be identified by the XJ12 or Double Six badge on the rear and a V12 emblem on the glovebox.

Welcome to the forum Jeff,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

It is an XJ81 - a rare and very desirable model. The LHD specification was 6.0 litre 'Export' of which 1325 were produced. This is the type with the glove box. A final run of 101 LWB and 50 Majestic in 1994 had the passenger airbag.

Apart from the powertrain, the XJ40 tech section will probably be the most useful for you. Follow this link XJ40 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
