Happy to be here...
Just thought I'd introduce myself and say that I'm excited to be a member of the forum and the new owner of an '09 XF-SC. Over the past few months I have been looking for just the right car to replace my Porsche Cayenne S. I owned the Cayenne for a tick over 2 years and it met my needs perfectly. I drive about 40,000 miles per year and decided several years ago if I was going to spend that much time behind the wheel I was going to drive something I truly enjoyed driving. However, I also tow a boat throughout the summer months and a trailer full of off road vehicles year round. The Cayenne had an impressive 7700lbs towing capacity and was athletic for its size. It was also a very capable vehicle in the snow and ice.
I recently fell into an amazing deal on a Ford Expedition 4x4. It was too good to pass up so I jumped on it. With the Expedition in the stable I can use it for towing and in adverse weather. So I thought to myself, its time for a luxury sports sedan to replace the Cayenne.
Enter the Jaguar. In deciding on a car I eventually narrowed the options to the BMW 550i w/sport package or the Jag XF-SC. I genuinely liked the 550i and still do. But I'm drawn to unique, less common vehicles and there was that intangible gravitation toward the XF. Last week I came across a good deal on the Jaguar and pulled the trigger.
I'm very happy with my decision and look forward to enjoying this fine automobile. I'm also excited about being a part of this forum and community and hope I can contribute something useful.
