Hello!
I am a published poet, writer, artist (ceramics, Chinese brush painting, crochet, rare jams, photography, vintage fashion, gardening, rock tumbling, decorating), and botanically interested nature explorer and traveler. I live in a cottage in a historic neighborhood with a mini French castle, two Victorians and a farmhouse with a little donkey. I have nine rosebushes. I live with the man I like best in the world, who is a well known surrealist, and does beautiful sculpting and art carpentry as well, but who works by day at a college, managing a department. We live very simply. I am the mother of four sons, the oldest 17, the youngest 5.
I love people, and have friends around the world who follow my poetry online, or my husband's painting via Facebook, or both. I am hoping we will be able to see them all in time, but this year we are going to the Bahamas, Cozumel and Grand Cayman to celebrate our 10 year anniversary.
I finally got my dream car- a 2001 gold Jaguar XJ8. I have been working to get it going perfectly since its purchase some months ago. I posted a more complete version of its history and repairs in the forum for its year, along with some questions. I was lucky in that I was able to purchase directly from a European auto mechanic who bought it from a friend after the tensioners needed to be replaced and the engine rebuilt. He kept it for five years- it has had two owners before me.
It was in very decent shape, and had 131,000 miles on it, but with everything important already rebuilt, and I decided I liked it better than the other offerings. I have had some repairs since I bought it, including leatherwork, the steering wheel locking mechanism, the passenger door lock actuator, and the replacement of a fob and key. The remaining other issues, including engine lugging at times, overheating at idle (as of two days ago), and a hard to determine bearing sound only there when it first starts for the day I am trying to figure out before we drive away to the ocean- what I don't want is to end up stranded on a roadtrip, because I have never taken this car on a roadtrip yet.

Congratulations on realizing your dream of owning a Jaguar! May it give you many Tens of Thousands of miles of driving pleasure.
Of course, you'll have to get all that sorted out first, and I hope that goes well too.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
