Default Hello

Hi I am Bernie, I live in Wales and I have the misfortune to have a problem concerning the alternator on a 3.6 1995 xj6. I like car forums as I have a few mid ninties motors around so sometimes it can be hard to keep them going without it costing a packet. I swapped the alternator (5 wire) and still have no charge.I am off to look around the site now in the hope of enlightenment... Tanks all!

Welcome to the forum Bernie,

A 3.6 1995 XJ6...... ?

I'm at a loss to know which tech section applies here. Familiar with the 1995 XJS 3.6 litre and the 1995 XJ6 3.2 or 4.0 litre but not a 3.6 from that year. Let's have some more detail and I can give you the appropriate link.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You may also like to visit the UK Region by following this link UK - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in this country.

Enjoy the forum.

Hello and thanks for the warm welcome!
I made a mistake, it's a 3.2 not a 3.6. I can see why that confuses the issue

I am still trying to get to the bottom of the charging problem, here's hoping I can beat it soon!
All the best!

Bernie,

Follow this link XJ X300 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X300 section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

As you're still troubleshooting the no charge, you could start a new thread in X300 section to ask for others experiences with charging issues.
