Default Hello all

Hi all long time reader just recently made my first post (my apologies didnt see the intro section) i just acquired a XJR for 2K after owning an X type for the last 3 years of course my XJR came with its issues and 175000miles engine was rebuilt my jaguar Minneapolis Mn the tensioners have been replaced with metal ones other then that i dont know to much about it i know after storing it certain fluids became slightly low oil is one of them appears its a rear main seal or the 17mm bolt above it (slightly concerned it may back out entirely) am i over thinking that bolt?
my experience with working on these cars ive done everything from the oil pressure sensor on my xtype for those who know nearly impossible to get to without removing nearly everything ive done all coil packs and plugs regularly troubleshot a Faulty J gate shifter replaced pcv valve/hose ive done the valve cover gaskets rear suspension links had that fun tire wear fuel filter air filter and attempted to do the oil pan gasket until i realized i had to remove the front suspension which killed it for me (which was fine because apparently a bolt was lose leak fixed) so im fully prepared to get my hands dirty for my dream car The XJR 01 so my question for all of you what do i expect around 200,000 miles? Or approaching that? If my engine has been rebuilt supercharger rebuilt as well

Welcome to the forums ForTheLoveOfCars,

Good to have you with us.

High mileage Jaguars inevitably go through a lot more expensive consumables such as brake and suspension components but are almost always more reliable than garage queens.

I see you are posting in both X350 (for the 2003 - 2009 XJ) and X308 (for the 1997 - 2003 XJ) forums. Very different vehicles and discussion could easily become confused. Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/ to the X308 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Midwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-midwest-39/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

If you post that question in X308 forum, members with the same model will see it and give advice.
