My name is Shawn.

I have been the proud owner of a 1997 Jaguar XK8 Convertible for the last 7 years.

I have been following this site very closely for awhile now and am very thankful for all the great information that I have found here. I currently have 104,754 miles on it.

During my time as the owner, I have replaced the water pump, thermostat, engine mounts, bushings on driver side upper control arm, full load breather, and the power steering pump.

I am blessed to have a great mechanic who over the years has done all of those repairs for less than $1000 dollars.

I just purchase the parts on line and he installs everything for me. I have spend a total of about $625 on parts. The jaguar dealership was going to charge me 1550 to to the engine mounts alone.

 

A belated welcome aboard! I joined on to the forum PRIOR to seriously shopping around for the XKR I eventually bought in order to find out the potential skeletons in the closet for owning one of these. The only major mishap so far was the convertible problems which I had already anticipated based on research through the XK8/XKR section. Hope to see you over there!
