Another Albertan! Welcome. Love your handle. Of course I've heard that's a sport of some sort in Canmore.

Canmore is one of the greatest places on Earth! Spent a week or so there a few years back when my Jetta refused to start in -45 weather! Had to have it dragged it around a parking lot for 15 minutes before she fired up... The lesson? Never decide to go to Ontario in a diesel without checking the glow plugs first! Got stuck while poking around Lougheed Park, but managed to stay alive by eating my right leg. Oh, wait a minute. That was a leftover mc chicken.

Have fun driving that cat in the snow!

Welcome, you can check out FAQs on XK Forums for technical tips
That's verily weird to read that cold weather beats lighting struck lol
VW Polo was exposed to ligthning strikes a few times in a test plant but it started easily w/o any trouble lights on the dash

Ya hopefully I can get these issues fixed in the next few weeks so I can take her out for a real test when the roads dry. Right now I too am driving a vw in the winter, lucky its not a diesel so she starts no problem most days... however the moving parts like to freeze up at -25

Welcome to the forum, at those temperatures it would be my moving parts that seize up never mind the ruddy car. LOL

Default Minus 1c to -7c degrees in Scotland tonight.

Hi and a warm welcome to the Jaguar Forum.
Hope you get those issues sorted out soon on the XK8.
Those are cold temperature you mention. we are waiting for the first snow of the winter here in the West of Scotland with the North of Scotland already covered.
Temperatures across Scotland tonight are predicted to vary from -1c to -7c and that's cold enough for us. -40c to -45c must be something else.
Take good care.
Regards
Inver.

Default Snow has arrived.

Just a wee update.
Very cold here last night -5c, warm by Canadian standards. When putting the S in the garage last at 11.30am felt very cold indeed, felt like snow was on its way.
We awoke this morning to our first fall of snow, just a few inches here, again very minor to what you get.
Mind you it sends the media into a frenzy.
All the best,
Inver.

-5C? We would put on a light sweater and head for the links toady? JK. It's about -5C here in northern Canada today which is about normal for this time of year.

Hi there, welcome aboard

As for the cold.....Only managed -10 here in Glasgow tonight. I was outside with my boys clearing the driveway of snow and topping up on some salt. I did clear my sons windscreen of snow and ice using my hands......A little chilly so I had the long sleeve shirt on but the sleeves were turned up some. We managed - 18 here some years ago and tbh I didn't notice a huge difference but the cars etc certainly seemed too!!
Couldn't imagine living in those sort of extreme cold temps (such as -25) for any length of time though

I've manually upgraded you to Full Forum Access....hope you enjoy your time here

Cool

Thanks guys. the temp has climbed back up to a comfortable -5 and the body parts are moving again. Just waiting on the new chains, tensioners, water pump and manual for the xk8 so I can bring her back to her former glory... the vw isnt going anywhere.. ive had it for 10 yrs and ill have it for anther 20 at least.. she may not have the power of the jag but the fun factor is still there.
