Hello from a dead S-type owner
Hi all
Joining these forums in unhappy circumstances... with a dead S-type.
Looking however to possibly get a new Jag to replace it.
Hoping for some advice on both counts!

Welcome to this friendly Forum, Ben. Relieved to hear it is the S type that's dead not the owner.
If you want help with the S type ask here
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...charged-v8-15/
You'll need to browse the sections for other models that interest you to check out the pitfalls.
There's a Regional section too

Good luck with your searches.

Hi Ben,
Welcome! I joined this great forum after purchasing a dead 98 XJ8. This forum helped me bring it back to life. I found the best collection of courteous, helpful, friendly, and.. I better quit before I quote the entire scout law. You will find the help you need in these forums.
I bought another dead 01 XJ8 and I brought it back to life as well with the help of these forums.
Good luck.

Welcome to the forum Ben,
Sorry to hear about the dead S-Type. Follow Steve's link to the S-Type section for help, advice and information.
As you're in the UK, there's a number of specialist Jaguar breakers who can supply whole engines or transmissions if you've had a serious disaster. Worth checking repair options first.
Enjoy the forum.

Yep, thanks all...
I will certainly now be looking at repair options (away from main dealers) before making the decision to scrap it.
Thanks for the advice, will let you know what happens!
