Default Hello from Erie, PA

Just purchased a mint condition 1999 XJ8, 67,000 (very gentle) miles. I want to keep it in current condition and hope other Jag owners can help with tips and tricks.

Welcome, Tom! I'm familiar with Erie; I used to make the fifteen hour trip all the time to pick up and drop off my show dogs with a professional handler that lives in Erie. Cold and snowy winters up there!

I'm Jo in Virginia Beach. I have an '04 X Type 3.0 that is currently Yard Art while I'm waiting for a call back from the dealership service manager. Long story.

Enjoy your lovely car and welcome to the site. There are lots of nice people here who are well versed in these incredible cars.

Hi Jo, you are right about Erie in the winter. Unfortunately I will have to strore my car from about Dec 1 to March 15 if I want it to maintain it's mint condition.

You have to store the car? That stinks. I went up there one time to breed one of my girls just after she championed and got her medical testing done, and had to drive through a blizzard most of the way up. That PA turnpike is no fun when you can't see five feet in front of you and the 18 wheelers are blowing by. It was horrible. The car said it was 12 whole degrees in Erie; when it dropped to 9 degrees, I was ready to come home! lol

Default Hi Tom

Congrats on the mint purchase. I'm new to the forum too with a 2002 XK8. I've been a member since June but still not full access because I rarely make posts ( need 10 ) for full access. So I'm going to start posting here as I just purhased an "A" drum for my trans and want to be able to see the pics that are posted from another member.
