Default Hello from Essex UK

Hi, I have always liked Jaguars ever since watching Arthur Daley in his early Jag :-) I have been talking to a friend who is not into his cars in terms of looking after them long term. He has offered me his October 2002 XK8 4.2 Auto. It is black with Black and Red trim. He is the second owner from new and bought it from Lancasters when it was three years old in 2005. He has always had it serviced, not always by Jaguar and just had a gearbox overhaul (£3.5k) new disks pads etc. It has tatty paintwork and a bubble on the rear quarter panel. It needs a new headlining and most of the lights are on, on the dash but all the work has been done just not by Jag to turn off the lights. Could a home diagnostic tool sort this?
It drives nice and sounds fine, I intend to tinker with it and hope it will increase in value, future classic?

All help appreciated.
Darren.

Welcome.

Sounds like fun.

A quicky repost in the XK8 section should assist with the lights etc.

Welcome to the forum Darren,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link UK & Eire - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
