just got a new jaguar. 2002 x type 2.5. really sharp. pristine body and interior still looks showroom. picked it up at a local auction for 3200. a lil over priced but the condition is well worth it. very surprising see that it has 184,000 miles. car still runs strong....that is....in drive. reverse on the other hand is a whole other story. cue....what i need help with. the dam thing shifts into reverse and doesnt move. no hard shift. no nothing. just a engine roaring wanting to go. just feels like the transmission is not catchin reverse. but theres no sign of anything going forward. drives perfect, shifts smooth and all. i know someone here has had or heard of a similar problem. what can i do??? really dont want to just run it back thru the auction cause thats a easy fix, the car is too nice. any help?

 

Welcome to the forum mb, I see that you have posted into the X Type section (that is good).

I hope that the guys can help you on your way, I don't know enough about the X Type and Gbox/Tbox problems.

Hope it is just a selector issue.
