Welcome to the forums FacundoFASL,

Good luck in the search for your preferred Jaguar. If you'd said which it is, I could have given you a link to the relevant model forum.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Welcome to the Forums.

I agree,

My Dad said way back when I was a lot younger, "if you have to drive, it might as well be a Jaguar"..

Worked for me.

Good luck.

Hello,
I completely agree! Might as well have one of the Classiest Cars on the road if you're gonna be driving a car anyway.

Welcome. I bet I know where you're coming from. I too drove pickup trucks as daily drivers for 20 years and then started having spinal problems. Still keep a truck around for occasional truck stuff and foul weather, but prefer to ride in a more supportive seat much closer to the roll center of the vehicle on a daily basis.

Default My current favorites

Thank you everyone for welcoming me. So I found a used 2007 XK coupe. By a private seller who claims to have done all of the maintenance by the book at the dealership(I値l ask for proof)it痴 beautiful gold-ish color almost perfect sadly it has 129,000 miles /:
My other favorite is a 2005 XK8 zircon metallic blue convertible sold at a dealership with 65,600 miles. It looks nice I知 going to hopefully get to test drive it in a couple of days. My favorite is the 07 but the miles scared me.
any input would be much appreciated

I wouldn't worry about high miles provided the servicing has been carried out on schedule. With both of the examples you are considering, this should have been every 12 Months.

The early steel bodied XK8 introduced in 1996 had some teething troubles (especially from the 4.0 litre nikasil lined engine with plastic tensioners) but it was a great car by the time production ended in 2005 with the later 4.2 litre engine and a more reliable transmission. The aluminium bodied XK benefited from this development by using the same engine and transmission when it was introduced in 2006.

I've had a 2005 XK8 Coupe and a 2007 XK Coupe. Never had a convertible because there's little point here in the UK but it's a very different situation for you in LV where the convertible must be a very attractive prospect. The XK8 and XK are both excellent but very different cars. Technology developments make the XK8 phone and audio very dated although the body design is timeless. The early XK is better for phone and audio but still shows its age in technology terms when judged against my 2015MY model and woefully behind compared with current models.

With any used Jaguar, condition and maintenance history are critical. A well maintained example from careful previous owner(s) is a joy to own and drive but a neglected example can easily be a money pit.

Be very critical in your appraisal and if in doubt, walk away. There's always another Jaguar.

Graham
