Just purchased my 2009 XKR Portfolio edition coupe. Shadow gray with charcoal and cranberry stitching. 58,00 miles and very good condition. Purchased in Monterey and enjoyed a 2&1/2 hour drive back to Sonoma county with my daughter, although the iPod interface and USB failed to recognize my phone and my thumbdrive (even though it worked during the test drive). I know it may only be the beginning, but it was a minor failure and took nothing away from the excitement of now owning such an amazing car.
I first saw an XKR (or XK) 10 years ago, dark blue with ivory, and fell in love. It was way out of my price range then and I purchased a used A6 which I absolutely loved. I found myself back in the market this year and was shocked to see how affordable and reliable (relatively) these cars are now, so I couldn't resist the possibility of owning my dream car. My father bought a late 60's or early 1970's new convertible XKE when I was a kid, which I loved, but rarely saw since it was always in the shop. I had the Jaguar bug ever since, but also the concerns about quality. As I researched the XKR, my most useful source for information was this forum, and the knowledgeable posts here helped me overcome my concerns about reliability. For that reason, I would like to thank each and every member and administrator of this forum. housmm1

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
