Default Hello from Iowa and just bought 07 XK

Hello everyone, just thought I would say HI and I am new to the forum and new to owner a Jaguar. Ive owned several other types of cars from BMW, H2 Hummer, 63 VW Bug to a dam Honda CRX.

Anyways so far I am in love with this car, I flew to Miami Florida from Iowa to pick it up and drive it back home. On the way home stopping at a buddys exotic dealership and driving many exotic cars, was pretty amazing. The drive from Florida all the way to Iowa was a 2 day trip and a blast with people talking to me at every gas station, food joint and hotel I stayed at wonder what the hell Im driving.

I do have some questions though as I was told a very unique story about this car that was told to the dealership from the previous owner. Here is what was told to me.

Its a late 2007 XK but its a rare prototype model for the 2008 XK60 that was to be released shortly after. The car was used in tradeshows around the U.S. to show off the upcoming 60th anniversary design.

Now I have no idea about any of this, its just what I was told. I did a little research and the 2008 XK60 is identical to this car which was interesting. So who knows what is true and what isnt. From the carfax it had two previous owners, both drove it about 45,000 miles each and at the very beginning of its life it had many electrical problems but for the last 70k miles it has been pretty good.

Another crazy story that bums me out is on the way home to Iowa from Florida some douchbag in the middle of the night scraped the entire passenger side of my car putting a small dent in the rear fender and putting in a few deep scratches in a few other spots. So I owned it less than 24 hours and already been hit...ugh..

Here are some pics I took of the car. I added the black Jaguar emblem in the back and the spike lug nuts just for fun as people were calling it a James Bond looking car. So im just having some fun with it. Also I own a vinyl graphics business so I had my well trained wife tint the tailights and headlights with special vinyl designed for that. She did really well, I was proud of her.

One more thing, before anyone says anything about the R logo on back... I ordered it on the way home from Florida... its just a cheapy knockoff.. Its for sure not a R of course, its just for fun and to mess with two friends of mine that have a new Mustang and a Hellcat... lol

I hope you all enjoy my post and I look forward to checking out all the other rides on this forum! And learn everything I need to know about my car is it hit the 100k mark on the way home.

Welcome to the forum Ridicrick,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. Thanks for posting a great Intro. Sorry to hear about the damage. Are those spikes legal on anything other than chariots in the Roman Colosseum?

Congratulations on driving the car the 1500+ miles home. Many of our US members seem to use a transporter if it's more than 100 miles away!

Jaguar Heritage (Jaguar Heritage. JAGUAR HERITAGE ARCHIVE) will be able to confirm whether the prototype story is correct but may charge for providing information.

Welcome.

I also have a few suspicions on those lug nuts.
