Wink Hello from this Island Girl in cold Michigan

Hola everyone....

As of last yesterday I became the owner of my dream car...A 2005 black on black Jag X-Type 3.0.

I am loving it so far but I wanted to introduce myself since I will be asking a lot of questions about my car and ever since I decided to buy one I have been on this site reading on a lot of interesting things.

Is there something I should know regarding this car that I don't know? One thing I do need for it is new mats but I wanted to get the Jag ones...does it matter? and...I want to make sure I get the right gas for it, so what should I get?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Cerika2010

Default Welcome Cerika2010

Welcome to a great forum, I am pretty sure your Jaguar requires Premium unleaded 91 Octane fuel.
I live in Shelby Township which is about 25 miles north of Detroit and you might want to say hello at the Mid West US - IL IN IA MI MN MO OH WI regional link.

Enjoy your new Jaguar.

Welcome to the forum Cerika2010,

Congratulations on the X-Type.

You probably already know the tech section from your reading here but if not, follow this link X-Type - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X-Type section for help, advice and information. If you're new to this model, the 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You may also like to visit the US Mid West Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/mid-west-us-il-ia-mi-mn-mo-oh-wi-39/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham

The UK Owner's Handbook gives 95 as the fuel requirement but US is usually rated lower.

If you're running out and no one in the US comes back with an answer, use the highest premium grade you have locally. It may cost you a little more but will be safe.

No - the link is broken!

Go to Regional - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum and scroll down the Mid West. The direct link from there is working OK.

Hi Cerika2010: Welcome to the forum and greetings from the Midwest Region. You've already been given the link to our little Midwestern corner of the forum (thanks, Paul & Graham!) where you can find folks near to you. And I know the x-type guys will give you the support and encouragement you'll need to keep your dream car on the road for years to come.
Again, welcome to the club!
Scott

Welcome to the forum!

Spent some time in the Charlevoix area in the late '90's. It was beautiful.
