Hello Jag Forum enthusiasts- 2008/ XK/ 4.2
MCracer /Marty here. Picked up a very pretty 2008 Emerald Fire with tan interior XK 4.2 with 100k mi well cared miles.
Dealership didn't know much about Jaguar XK and they managed to throw a Top Convertible not latched warning. I'll jump on one of the other threads or start a new one as I can't get the front unlatched/released (how many CCW to loosen can I try??) to manually lower and reset it!
I'm an analog guy, DIY mechanic, retired engineer, ex motorcycle racer/ class winner (mostly road racing , Leguna, Sears, Willow, Riverside..) and still have 5 bikes (i.e. KTM, 990, XR650...) and cars (incl 58 MGA!)
Loved seeing the first XK top latch forum threads to get me started. Downloaded the manual, have handbook and reviewed. But Im still stuck on breaking the front latch free. More to come...
