Hello from Mid Ohio
Hello JF members! After many yrs of putting off our desire to get into a Jag we have finally decided its time.
My wife and I have always liked the XJ best. But over the yrs we absolutely must have a reliable & reasonably economical family car. So every time we've fancied the idea, we always come to the same conclusion that it's just to much financial risk.
Now that we have only 1 child left in the home and our circumstances are what they are... we think its time.
About me: I've been a car guy since I was 3yrs old & I spend my days working as a OEM Automotive engineer. Spend my free time working my own cars and helping friends by fixing theirs. Been doing those 30+ yrs now and when I put my hands to something I like to be a perfectionist at it.
Instead of the XJ though we have decided to get into a 02+ S-Type. Mostly due to my concern of down time & repair costs.
I've done a lot of reading (here and elsewhere) on the S-Types and have resolved to limit our searching to a 02+ w/V8.
Ideally we are looking for a <50k mile BRG w/V8. The cleaner the better. Currently I have one in my sights and am talking with the seller.
10pts for anyone who can figure out my screen name ;-)
