Default Hello new here and thinking Jaguar.. :)

Hi - read the sticky that I should post and introduce myself.

Long story short, I've always loved the look of the Jaguar's. Out of high school I bought a 99' Mazda Miata.. great car loved it. Fast forward to 2015 - after 16 years driving it I made the stupid mistake of modding it and "upgrading the suspension"

The balance was off.. the car handled great but feel like I was riding on rails and could feel every crack in the roads.. the soft top was tearing..

I wanted to fix and keep my car but where I live I can only have one car (one spot carport) so I sold it for nothing and traded it into a ***********.

Bought a brand new 2015 scion xb and it's a good car but I do miss my sports car days... it's super reliable but nothing exciting.

Now I'm lurking and looking at a Jaguar XJS (4.0 6 cylinder) that looks amazing.. great shape.. and I'm going back and forth the past week trying to decide if I should get the car and store it in the winter and drive it in the summer.

also I should add - nice to meet you all. I'm planning on looking a the car this weekend (which will probably not help..) and I'm wondering if I should even do that..

but yeah.. love the old school jag's.. this car would be just a 'something to work on the weekends' to wax and polish as a hobby car.

Welcome to the forum Matthew,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I think you've sold the XJS to yourself already!

I can see you've already found your way to the XJS forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

You can also visit the US Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/western-us-ak-ca-nv-ut-hi-wa-id-38/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Thanks GGG yeeeeeah.. the battle of common sense is going off in my head. Sort of a...

"you should do it! Live life! Have fun!"

"eh save for retirement.."

(that's the battle going on in my head)

Welcome and good luck with your search.I don't know that I would ditch my Scion if that XJS would be my only car. It would be great if you had a friend or family member not too far away with a garage, or at least an empty driveway. My son will occasionally show up at my house to use my space and tools.

Welcome.

The XJ-S is reliable. Its the stupid PO's that have made them less so.

ALL my Jags have been daily drivers, NO other make as a back up.

MY OPINION, you are a long time dead, and there are NO second rounds.

Thanks Rivguy, yeah I plan on keeping the scion for winter driving and to and the commute. I'm thinking of renting a storage facility but I'm not sure if I can work in my car in those.. plus it's expensive parking it there. Basically I need a rich gf wife I guess and a garage instead of an apartment lol..

But anyways thank you :-)

Thanks great francis :-) yeah honestly I've done a bunch of searching through the forums and the more I read the more I'm afraid hahaha...

But you are right.. I feel like you only live once.. :-) so.. I think I'll look at it and probably stress and toss and turn through the weekend. Thanks for the advice! :-)
