Hi All,

I'm the new owner of a 2002 x-type. I had it for about 3 weeks before locking the keys in it. I had a valet park it and they changed the auto lock setting so it locked automatically when all the doors were closed. I'm not blaming them -- it was my fault for leaving the spares in the glove box. Anyhow, I'm planning on attempting to gain access this weekend and maybe put a new Thule roof rack on it.

I can see form the tech section you've had an unfortunate experience with the keys. You're not the first by a long way and certainly won't be the last. Hope you get into it at the weekend without too much damage or cost.

As you've already found your way to the tech section, there's no need for a link.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
