Hello from rural Illinois, USA
My wife Gwynne and I have been Jaguar owners since 2010 when we bought a 2004 XJ8 which we called the Grey Ghost. Shortly thereafter we bought her a new red 2010 XF Premium. which she named Foxy. This summer we were able to give away the Grey Ghost to our friends who detailed our Jags every summer. Now that we had secured a good home for the Grey Ghost, which we loved dearly, we were able to buy a cranberry 2014 XJL supercharged V8 which we named Axle. We live in the rolling hills of northwestern Illinois and there are plenty of deserted back country roads that make for ideal driving for Jaguars. There are only 48,000 people in our 500 square mile county, and we feel we easily have the best looking, and best performing stable in our region. I first fell in love with the Jaguar XKE back in my high school days in the 60's. Gwynne was leary of Jaguar's reliability reputation at first, and I had to get her to test drive her XF before she would buy one. Now she has been so pleased to be in her XF, and routinely gets so many compliments on her car, that she wouldn't drive anything other than a Jaguar.
Gwynne likes to say, "Jaguar owners are nice people." Last week we made a 730 mile round trip in one day to my family home in southern Illinois. Including some small town driving, and cruising at 78 to 80 on the interstates, the 2014 XJL averaged 26.9 miles per gallon.
