Default Help please

Hello I have 2002 s type 2.5. Petrol.
Can anyone tell me if there is a way for the coolent water to keep disappearing into the exhaust apart from blown headgasket.
I have fininally worked out water only disappears when Heater is on. If i do not turn heater on the water takes much longer to disapear, a week or 2 compared to hours when heater on? NO Overheating issues, Im thinking water going to exhust because oil free water is in exhust at the end.. I neded to put tissue in pipe at bottom and doakks up lot water, but from where? Is there a pipe somewhere that when leaks water it gets into exhust pipe.
I thought was thermostat so i replaced it and everything fine for 2 weeks but now start loosing water again.oil caps clear.
Heating only luke warm but when revved up its goes Hot. Im thinking possible water pump or loose fan belt but neither of them would explain water loss. Ive had car 10 months and has lost water the whole time. Still drives like a Dream. I cant find any leaks anywhere. So in desperate need of some quality advice on possible cause. Surely im not the first to encounter this Bazaar unexplained water loss.. Thankyou kind Sirs

How many kilometres/miles on the vehicle? Are there any DTCs stored in the system? Has the cooling system been properly bled to remove any trapped air?

Condensation in the exhaust when cold is normal until it reaches normal operating temperature.

If you suspect a cooling system leak, the best means of finding it is to use a pressure tester to pressurise the system to 1 bar (100 kPa) after a cold soak, preferably overnight. If the pressure on the tester gauge begins to drop, look for leaks around the hoses at at the DCCV.

Welcome to the forums Andrew,

Good to have you with us.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/ to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Enjoy the forums.

Andrew,

Good to hear you found the cause.

Once you've posted an Intro then it's better to ask further technical questions in the X-Type Model forum. Lots of members read the Intro's but don't come back to them again once they've read and/or replied to them.

Showing your Location is useful when asking about brands or sources. I can see you are in Dartford, UK but members can't see your location. Please add it to your progile.

Any of the specialist aftermarket Jaguar parts suppliers are a good source. For example S N G Barratt:
https://www.sngbarratt.com/English/#...6-48595531cb50

The factory Workshop Manual (JTIS - Jaguar Technical Information System) is available as a free download through the forum:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/g...rchives-65926/

A PDF version of the Workshop Manual is also available through the X-Type "How To" thread:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...essories-5915/

Go down to the end of the first post there for the download link.

Graham
