Default Here, Kitty, Kitty!

I've just bought a 2001, online yet. we'll see how it goes. I think I have to replace the tensioners since it was built in May. Again,we'll see once I take a look. Other than that, she's a beauty!

Welcome to the forum!

By the way, we have a member named Kitty (real life and on the forum). I thought you were beckoning her. She's all mine, so keep your distance

Welcome James, If your lucky maybe one of the previous owners took care of the tensioners and water pump. I was fortunate enough to have the previous owner addressed these issues. Good luck and enjoy your new cat

I can't tell you much other than it's a platinum XK8, charcoal interior and top, much like RCsign's Silverstone. I should have it this Friday. How it runs?? We'll see.

Hello and welcome to jaguarforums.com.

Oh one other thing you need to put your car details in your signature. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for.

Please take a moment and read the information provided to you explaining the rules. Be patient and enjoy the site.

Unhappy does kitty have a bum leg?

The drama continues
I'm about to head over to meet the truck she is arriving on, but the driver says that she had a tough time climbing the ramp, even though she seemed to be running just fine. She also has a cracked windshield that the dealer says he'll make good, though why he didn't fix it as soon as he saw it is beyond me.
This fairy tale romance is starting to look like it may have been written by Steven King.
From what little I know, the trans issue could be anything from wrong gear selection to bum gearbox.

Any thoughts out there?

I met the truck right outside the customs office on Fort St. and the driver told me that he had taken her off to move another car, and this time it scooted up the ramp with no trouble at all. Whew! It sounds like the first time, he had it in the wrong gear somehow...not sure how you could do that, but other than the crack in the windshield, she sure is pretty for her age, very nice to drive too!
I'm still going to change the tranny fluid PDQ, probably at the same time I put in the new tensioners....yeah, it was built in May 01 a few months too soon....oh well!

Talking Pretty Kitty

Her windshield has been replaced and she's gorgeous, can't say enough about how well the Florida car dealer handled things. Josh Batey of John Greer Auto sales has been as straight as an arrow, and as helpful as can be.
(hmm was that in violation of the no advertising rule? oh well...the mod can bounce it if so)
