Ok - I've watched this forum for a while and to be honest, it's EXTREMELY helpful and VERY intimidating. I fell in love with my 2013 Jaguar XF. I've had it since 2017 in the DMV area, but it's the first car I've ever had real issues with. Knock sensor codes. Water pump codes and I felt the dealer took advantage of me when I caught them pretending to change out the water pump. I asked for the parts and told them I was taking it to be inspected after for verification and they asked to hold it longer. Anywho - that made me try to learn more on my own. I bought it form carmax and for 20 years I've never had an issue with a vehicle. This time, I found a paint job I missed covered up and I believe there simply may have been a prior issue. That said, I love the vehicle but haven't been driving it because even though I had the knock sensors changed, I still get some warning codes and I'm afraid to mess up the engine. Please know I don't know if it would, but in my ignorance, that's the first thing that comes to mind.
I decided to change the battery myself (mistake - but I am here to learn) and I should've taken a picture of everything beforehand. The battery alone was soooo heavy to get out! But I did it lol! I know this seems simple but I'm learning here :-) But now I have one wire/cable (forgive me for not knowing terminology), that I do not know where it goes and need your help!
I hope to learn more about how to properly care for my vehicle. I keep it clean and very neat and hope these are small issues. Hopefully sensor related. I've also learned quite fast to get a specialist who actually works on Jaguars and specifically my model. Learned the hard way but at least I'm trying.
Thanks everyone for listening to me ramble. I am so intimidated to be here! I know people are passionate about autos so I guess I just don't want to offend or be out of place as such a beginner.
Thank you!

Hello, Fam,
I'm sorry for your bad experience with the dealer, but too many of these guys try to take advantage of someone they think they can intimidate, or who appears vulnerable. Good on ya for calling for an independent inspection.
I understand your desire for tight privacy (boy howdy do I understand!)), but Grant has a good point. If we at least have an idea where you're based, state will do, it will help members in the correct section know better how to help you.
