Default Hi all

I'm here cause I'm interested to buy an old classic for a weekend ride but I'm not sure this is the right place because I'm interested to a Daimler Sovereign.

Can someone explain me the difference and why these 2 brands are so close?

May thanks

Welcome to the forum misterfigaro,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

YES - it's the right place. Jaguar owns the Daimler brand except in the USA. They have used it for the highest specification models in the UK and Europe. For example, there is no mechanical difference between a Jaguar XJ12 Series One and a Daimler Double Six Vanden Plas Series One but the interior on the Daimler is much higher level.

Looking for a classic - presumably a 1970's XJ Series or earlier?

Graham

I've replied to your thread in UK Region forum.

Unless you are absolutely determined to go for a 1970's Series I,II,III model, the later X300 (1995-97) offers greater reliability with less of the potential rust problems.

Thank you Graham,

Honestly I'm not determined to 70' but the fact is that I like a classic car and that I prefer a car that pay discounted road tax and insurance.

That car looks perfect for the price and style.

But I'm open to other solutions that follows my criteria.

Cheers
