Hi all, new member
Hey fellow Jag people, I've just joined up, so a few words of introduction seemed appropriate.
I've owned two Jaguar XJ6's in the past and loved them both. There is, in my view, no other car that makes you feel quite like a Jag does. Sure, there are probably technically superior vehicles, and ones that go round corners quicker, if that's your thing, but nothing, in my experience, quite matches the overall experience of this incredible motor.
First Jag, a 1972 4.2, bought in 1982 when I was 19 (who says these are old man's cars?) was loved and enjoyed - despite numerous problems with just about everything that could go wrong - until it was killed by terminal rust. This car had absolutely the best ride of any car I have experienced, including Rolls-Royce.
The only one that came anywhere near was the Rover P6.
Second Jag was a 1994 XJ40 3.2 Gold, far more reliable (although not without some niggles), a really nice car but foolishly traded in after five years for a BMW e38 728i sport.
I should have known better, because this car, with its very hard ride and even harder seat, with no lumbar support, played, I think, a large part in destroying my back! I later found out the hard way that the pain I felt on long journeys was the pain of a spinal disk gradually herniating, and when it finally let go, I realized the error of my ways and that I clearly needed another Jaguar.
Unfortunately my doctor was unwilling to write a prescription for an XJ6, so I had to resort to buying one. And what a one I bought. A two owner, 65,000 mile from new, 1997 XJ6 3.2 Executive in Flamenco Red.
I feel like I am in heaven.
After buying I drove the car 120 miles home, and experienced not a trace of back pain! These cars should clearly be dispensed on the National health Service.
There are, of course, a couple of niggles. One doesn't buy a 19 year old car and expect it to be perfect, however they are relatively small things, that I hope to solve, with the help of the forum.
For now though, I am all blissed up, almost unable to believe that I have a Jag again!
This one is a keeper, and I hope to run and maintain it for many years to come.
I wonder which other medical conditions Jags are able to cure?

Welcome to the forum! My Jag definitely fixes any problems I have; Definitely beats waiting in the doctors office for an hour!.
I too bought my Jag at a young age (17) , in fact a few months ago. I don't get the stereotypes about old people driving Jags. When I drive mine, I feel like a perfect gentleman, driving in one of the most beautiful cars on the road.
Have a good day!
