This will be a strange intro as my sister's husband passed away and when I went to help her wade through his huge shop I uncovered a series 3 hard top XKE. The engine is out and found a reciept for the rebuilt motor, which was also in the shop, aparrently done in 1993. Have started to do some research but not sure what to do to help her possibly sell it or take it upon myself to put it back together as a project. Any help on value from all you knowledgable folks here would much be appreciated. Seems to be in pretty good condition but still looking for a title. I am going to post in the XKE forum as well but a direction from anyone would much be appreciated by myself and family. Thanks all!

Condolences on the loss of your Brother-in-Law.

You need to really want to undertake any restoration project or it will become a chore. The value of an XKE depends on originality and condition and consequently varies enormously.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Welcome to the forum, I'm sorry your visit came via the loss of a family member.

Hope those over in the XKE side of our house can be of help in your tough decision. I'm new to Jags myself, but read that the older cars can be a true labor of love. If your not bitten by them then I hope you find a fellow owner in your area to help you figure out just what you have, and how best to deal with it.
