Hi guys, just thought i'd say hello ,
1996 XK8 owner now , although tattered and torn and probably paid way too much (3900) i am totally smitten with this old battle cat.
I know she will probably blow up on me and cost me ...but hey at 160k she;s earned it.

Welcome Malcolm. Don't know 3900$ seems fairly good to me. OK your miles are a little high.

Enjoy the thing whilst it goes, and then enjoy repairing it when it doesn't.

Hi guys, and thank you for the welcome.
Yes she's a fab cat and really pleased to find the only part thats done 160k is the gearbox
most of the other running gear (incuding engine) has been replaced by jag garages.
Gearbox seals also renewed 4mnths ago engine has done 80k now so i guess she will be due for pulleys and tensioners soon OUCH!!

 

Or should i worry about the high mileage gearbox
