Default Hi from Marty. New Member.

Hello all!

I just joined this week. I have a 1997 XK8, 39K miles, 4 liter. I'm am not a mechanic or a technician.

I know nothing about my Jag. I did initially join for selfish reasons.

On my 4th day of ownership I got the message "Convertible not latched". Arrggghhh! It is totally latched. When I tried to drop the top to reset my rear windows opened but now nothing else happened.

I cannot close or get it to recognized that it latched. Being from Fargo\Moorhead there is not a Jaguar dealership. Trying to find someone to work on it is proving to be a challenge. Oh well. I will keep trying. I love this car, though. Sweet Ride.

Marty

Welcome to the forum Marty,

Sorry to hear about the error message on your latch. You've come to the right place to learn about this and much more about your XK8.

Follow Steve's link to the XK8 section for help, advice and information.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

It does.
For your next challenge, try adding a SigPic.

Default Top is fixed.

It turns out the fluid was low. Had it filled up, recyclyed and it works. Yippee. I also added some pics to my album. I thought I added a pic to my signature but I don't see it show up.
