Hi new to the forum
Hi There,
DaveUSA here. I live in Southern California and have for a long time. I feel my knowledge of cars is similar to my knowledge of art. Know absolutely nothing about art, except I know what I like when I see it. The same is true for cars. I wish I knew more, but I do know what I like. I had a Dodge Charger Daytona edition for several years. I love the sportiness and the big beefy interior and exterior. It was a V8 and performed well. All was good until it reached the 120k mark and then things started going wrong. A lot of stuff. After several trips to the mechanic in the course of a year, I decided to part ways.
My friend was selling a 2010 Camaro that he took meticulous care of. I bought it and have enjoyed it, but .... It's beautiful to look at, but kind of cramped on the inside and the trunk space entry is small. I knew all this going in but was so in love with the design.. I still like the car, but have began looking at something new (or new to me). I was astonished to find that I could afford a used Jaguar XJ series. I've always loved the designs of the Jaguar and from what I've read it looks like the XJ is roomy and has a ton of great options. I have a post in another section as I am now deciding on which Jaguar to get. Two are offered in my area and both have the same options.
Anyway, that's me. I understand some people on this forum do their own work on their vehicles, I wish I were more comfortable in taking a challenge like that but I'm not. When I was young and had very little money, i did change the water pump on an old Mazda GLC. I think I also replaced the head gasket but these were done out of necessity and was a bit nerve wracking.
Sorry to make this a short novel but I wanted to introduce myself. I've already received a wonderfully detailed reply to my other post so thank you all.
Looking forward to being a member with a vehicle in a few days!!

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. Great Intro.
Even if you don't tackle maintenance yourself, carrying out minor repairs with the help of advice from other members on the forum is a good way to get to know your Jaguar and save $$.
I can see you've already found your way to the X351 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/western-us-ak-ca-nv-ut-hi-wa-id-38/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
