Default Hi, starting the search

Hi everyone, I am a new member doing a search for an XK8 project car. I have been reading through this site for about a month and am blown away by the amount of help and love for this car most everyone has.

My search has not netted a car yet. I have test driven 4 and none have meet my needs. I want something to work on and enjoy, but I don't want a total money pit. I'm trying to keep my spend below $10,000 as this will be a forth car in the family.

Thanks again for your sharing of info and insights.

Welcome to the forum johns55,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

You're going about Jaguar purchase the right way - if in doubt, walk away! Plenty of good ones but they can be elusive to find.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

That was quick.

When you buy a Jaguar you don't just buy a car, you enter a relationship!

Yeah, my wife is not into me having any other relationships. I think she's jealous. I've been searching for about 3 months. Looked at about 6 and test drove 3 until I found this one yesterday. It definitely needs some work and of course, I always second guess how much I paid. We'll see how it works out.

Tell her it'll keep you out of the bars. LOL

Not only that, she'll know on any given evening exactly where you are; In the garage working on the car!

It could be worse!

Welcome from ElinorB.
