Default How's it going please help

Hello, this is new to me. I own a 1998 jaguar xjr and recently I have been having g an issue where I will get a gas smell faintly inside but outside it is strong and my car will shut off. It will crank back up but as soon as I drive it will sputter. Funny thing is when I first drive it it runs great just after an hour or so I start having this issue and don't know where to turn. Can anyone help me please. I am sorry if this isn't the proper place to post this, I really don't know what I'm doing with this forum, just trying to get some help.

Welcome to the forum Mick,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I've copied your question to X308 forum for advice from members with the same model. Here's the direct link to it:

Follow this link XJ XJ8 / XJR ( X308 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the main X308 forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Welcome. Obviously there's a leak. Often a fuel leak will leave its mark so all you need to do is trace it uphill.... good luck
