Default I think I found my next car and a great forum

Ok, I'm a bit of a car junkie. Moved to Texas 5 years ago, figured the first thing I had to do was buy my first pick-up truck so I got a 2005 King Ranch F150.
A year later I decided to trade it for a Chrysler 300C SRT8 and am one of the three founding members of the DFW LX Club.
Then made a big mistake selling the Chrysler to get a "beater" car for back and forth to work - wound up with a 2003 Lexus LS430.
Just sold that a month ago cause it really wasn't a beater and after looking on Edmunds, cars.com, eBay and Craigs list I just didn't see any car that interested me. I was looking for something less than $25K, sporty, luxurous and fun to drive.
I came across a 2006 convertable XK8 that looks to be all that and more. I'm going to look at it tomorrow.
First thing I knew I had to do was find and join a Jag forum. It looks like there is a lot of action here so hello to all.

Sorry but a 2005 King ranch is not a truck. It is a breeder buggie with an open top cargo area. A real truck has vinyl seats, vinyl flooring and an 8 foot bed, If you're rich it might have a/c.

Welcome to the site, do your research and I'm sure you'll be happy. Check out the XK links in the site for the "how to buy" inspection stuff. Oh and if you want sporty might want to drop back a year or two and look for an XKR.

Thanks for the welcome and tips. I read the 2 sticky links on buying a XK8 and searched the forums for other info. I'm going to check around for a mechanic and do a bit more research before pulling the trigger. I'll go look at the car in Mansfield if I have the time today, otherwise will keep reading so I can be a more informed buyer.

I'll keep you posted. Of course hit me up if you know of an incredible deal on a 04-06 XK.

I'll post in the XK folder but didn't drive away with the XK8 last night. It was probably a decent car for a decent price but I didn't want to go out on a limb and buy it without a pre-buyers inspection from an indy. It'll be at a Carmax tomorrow if anyone is looking for an 06 XK8 conv. If I had to guess they probably bought it for something around $22K. I might check their listings in a few days to see what they're selling it for.
