Default Inner vents

I'm trying to track down a gremlin for a friend. The two inner vents on his 2014(I think) xf are open, but won't blow any air whatsoever. A/C and heat blow cold and hot everywhere else when requested, just not in the center of the dash?? Any thoughts?

Welcome to the forums Heath,

The DIRECTION of air delivery is controlled by flaps in the AC unit. These are moved by Servo Motors in response to the selected dash control settings. There are four Servo Motors on the XF and it is possible the one on the centre dash vent has failed. With the fan speed on a low setting (to reduce the sound), it should be possible to hear the Servo Motors operate as the controls are moved.
