Intro
Hello to all my Jaguar Brothers!
9 months ago I purchased a 2002 X-Type Sport, 2.5L - Automatic Transmission, 95,000 mile, Titanium Metallic exterior color, Dove Grey interior. I have visited several Jaguar Forums over the past 9 months to read up on my purchase and have since been trying to decide if I wanted to keep the vehicle or sale it. The car is not my daily driver, in fact I have put less than 200 miles on the since purchasing. I have read so many horror stories that at this point I am still undecided. Should I decide to keep the car I simply want to dress it up cosmetically, I recognize these are not performance monsters but I do love the Sporty Stance of this car!
I look forward to learning more from the forum!

To your conundrum, I have an XK of similar year and have not found it to be unreliable in any way. What I can say is that they do not take kindly to neglect and appreciate an owner who pays attention to maintenance.
If you take care of them, they take care of you; that is my experience. And if you are game to DIY, then they aren't all that expensive to keep up either.
As to the small amount of driving. These cares like to be run, so, if you've got it, why not flaunt it.

Welcome to the forum mapatrick,
No Jaguar model is just transportation. There's plenty of high volume mass market marques to fill that requirement. Jaguars all repay careful maintenance with reliability.
Follow this link X-Type - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X-Type section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You may also like to visit the UK Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-68/ to find other members in this country.
