Smile Introduction

Joined the Forum last year on acquiring a very low mileage 2007 XJR Portfolio. Even after six months enjoying the car, she has only done 20,000 miles. Must be one of the best models that Jaguar built and still the "old style" that I like. Whilst the latest model of XJ is a nice car, it could just as easily be a BMW, Lexus or a WHY. I haven't had anyone yet asking "what car is that" rather- "thats a nice Jag, not seen any of those before". The XJR is of course one of only 100 released into the UK market and goes like the proverbial s... off a shovel!
Previously have owned another low mileage XJ8 Sovereign which persuaded me that used Jaguars are not only good value for money, but great cars too.
I am an inveterate classic car enthusiast having started with a Jowett Jupiter many years ago.The XJR shares the garage with a 1965 Jaguar Mark II 3.8 (a South African CKD) and a 1966 Austin Healey 3000 BJ8.
I am looking forward to sharing stories, experiences and information via this Forum

Welcome to the forum Sharpractice,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

CKD's - that's an export method that seems to be long gone. Presumably it came back from SA in one piece!

I can see you've already found your way to the X350 tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
I think your question about the side vents would get a better response there. let me know if you want it moved.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Many of us will agree with you; modern cars are all cookie cutter cars and NONE stand out as different. If one wants a car that stands out in a parking lot one must drive a Classic!

When we met, my husband was driving a partially restored 1958 Austin Healey 100-6 which he called Austin H. In fact, the car got my attention first. However, during an especially lean period early in our marriage he sold it for quite a lot of money.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Default Thanks for the welcome Graham

Yes I would appreciate you transferring my earlier request about side vents to a more suitable forum. For that matter it may be that I have also not posted my recent question about the service schedule on the XJR to the right place either!
Looking forward to the rugby this afternoon.

Frank,

Your Service Schedule post is in the right place. I've added a reply to it.

Also looking forward to the Six Nations this afternoon and tomorrow.
