I have a few questions if anyone can help me out it will be highly appreciated i am new here. Well first off let me say this. I have a 2004 vanden plas. I first bought the car it had a suspension leak. So i decided to convert to spring coils. It drove great. But one day i decided to change the coolant cause i had a small leak and had used a temporary fix bars leak additive. So i wanted to clean it all out. Well i was in a hurry to work so i decided to flush the radiator from the overflow tank with the pressure hose. I know bad idea right worst part is i forgot to leave the drain plug open on bottom of radiator. Well after i did that i filled it up with a gallon of antifreez orange coolant. And hit the highway. About 15 minutes later it began to run hot i pulled over immediately. But by the time i did it souded like it wanted to shut off while i was trying to park it. The overflow was steaming and bubbling. Does anyone know if i could have caused damge to something internal or where should i start. ??
Welcome to the Forums.
Never a good idea to be in a hurry, you know that now, sadly.
I would ask the same question in the XJ8 (X350) Tech Section.
You may be lucky????, but any Alloy engine is not a fan of serious overheating.
Good luck.

Welcome to the forums Lilphx602,
You clearly had previous coolant leak issues or you wouldn't have used Bar's Leaks? If the engine overheated it could be seriously damaged. The first step I'd take is to drain the coolant properly from the radiator drain, flush and refill ensuring to get all the air out. Don't go out for a drive! Bring the engine up to temperature with the vehicle standing at home. Any strange sounds - switch off immediately. Otherwise check for leaks as the temperature rises.

Hello,
I'm sorry all this has happened to you.
There is that saying mostly for a reason, "Haste makes waste."
I hope it all works out for you.
