Default Jag was almost a minivan!

Hi everyone. It's good to be here, because it means I'm a Jag owner. I have always thought Jag was a sexy brand, and for some reason the contours and lines of the x type just make me smile. It's a vehicle version of a Victoria Secret model. Anyway, this is the story of how ours came to be.

We are giving my wifes Saturn to our daughter this year so my wife started looking for a replacement vehicle. She found a few minivans, some Toyota whatevers, a few Nissan somethingorothers, and a ford focus or 2...Ewww, I said. While doing some looking of my own, I started noticing Jags in the price range we had set. After a bit of research I realized we could get a jag for the same money as the grocery getters she had been mulling over! After showing her the cars, and with some prodding (cattle style), she went to look at the Jags...and was hooked! We stumbled onto a 2004 black/black awd 3.0 x type with 70K in great condition and all service records, so we wrote a check. WhooHoo!

I'm guessing I'm not the only person that goes out to the garage and just looks at their car for a few minutes and then goes back in the house? Or turns and looks back every time you walk away? Like I said, glad to be here.

Welcome to the forum Scott, you can always hire a mini van if you need to, but you won't step back and smile like you do with the Jag.

It's called the "Jag-around". Walk away from your Jag, stop, turn around for another look...welcome aboard.

What a coincidence. My wife says I'm a jag-around. Or is it a jag-off? Anyway, something Jag related. Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome!! I was mini van hunting when the husband de-railed me with a Jag too!

(I guess this means he isn't a unique spousal speciman--your wife is a lucky lady!)

We had basically the same experience about a decade ago when we bought our first Jag, a 1993 XJ6 VDP. Beautiful car, 52,000 miles and about the same price as all those other cars that had the shape of half-used bars of soap. That machine did turn out to be a pain in the butt at times, but it sure was classy, comfy and turned a lot of heads (all the important stuff).

Welcome and enjoy the Forum! You'll find a friendly and super-knowledegable crowd here. (I think you'll enjoy the bottom line on my signature, too. I borrowed it from the Oakridge Boys.)
