Question Jaguar S Type 2002 part id

Hi all, can anyone tell me what this part is and how much I can expect to pay for a new one. I am led to believe this is the part which is causing the engine management light to stay on and bucking engine at 3000 revs. this is the first time I have tried to post a photo, so I don't know if you folks can see it. The part is called a Cuadalimetro in Spanish but I don't know what it is in English. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Your post says S-Type, but your signature states X-Type. Which is it?

The part is an air flow sensor.

Part number is C2S2670 for the X-Type 2.5 litre.

As NBCat suggest the Jaguar part number is C2S2670 for that piece in your picture.
We have OEM ones in stock at $142.40

Welcome to the forum Spanishlion,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Unless you are sure the MAF is faulty (from a relevant error code) then guessing can be a very expensive way to troubleshoot Jaguar problems.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x-type-x400-14/ to the X-Type forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the Europe Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/europe-42/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Thanks Graham
I am going by what a Spanish mechanic is telling me.
They have put a computer on the car to find the fault and came up with the code for this part. I took the car originally to a Jaguar dealer and they said the problem was the spark plugs first. They have all been changed for genuine Jaguar plugs but I still have the fault. I have looked on here at the thread discussing the fault. There were three possible causes which have all been checked and are fine apparently. Btw I know nothing about cars as you can probably see. So I am having to put my trust in this Spanish mechanic.
Jaguar also mentioned the catalytic converter and mega bucks so I hopefully won't need to go there
Cheers.

Did they tell you the actual code(s)?

There are several error codes associated with the MAF. The cause can be a failed sensor but circuit faults, air leaks or simply a dirty sensor are other possible causes.

If they used Jaguar Diagnostics, all the data including the codes will be available without having to reconnect to your vehicle. Other diagnostic tools vary from automatic storage through optional to none.

apparently they haven't got the codes. I bought a cheap code reader a while back, is it worthwhile trying to get the codes from that. I will need to read the instructions first lol.

YES - most low cost code readers will read Jaguar powertrain (Pxxxx) codes.
