Jaguar S type
I have had my S type for 11 years now with no complaints gives a good ride and very economical being a diesel 2.7cc very comfortable. I live in a large village in Scotland called Strathaven South of Glasgow. I am now beginning to get a few problems which I am hoping someone can advise on mainly a noise from the rear end which goes away when turning left and comes back on again on the straight but does not go away when turning right. Would this be a bearing or the diff.
The car is very fast if you want it and very smooth.

Welcome to the forums Castrol3679,
Good to have you with us.
There's a lot of possible culprits in the transmission and rear suspension but the effect you describe when cornering suggests it could be a failed LH mounting frame bush allowing metal to metal contact - cornering removing the loading from it.
Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/ to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/ to find other members in your region.

I had a NSR wheel bearing collapse on an XJ40 with no prior warning on the A1 at Wetherby. That was an "interesting" experience.

It certainly was ...... and destroyed the hub carrier in the time it took to get across to the hard shoulder.
The hub had almost machined its way out of the carrier hence the replacement. You were fortunate as I suspect the interval between getting noisy and breaking up could be very short.
