Hey I’m a younger guy learning about cars I have a 01 Jaguar xk8 and had code p1722 it went into limp mode and then I gotten the transmission swapped out and it still has the code p1722 it drives smooth shifts fine I just don’t know why I have the code the check engine light is off to

Swapping the transmission was a bit drastic and probably a lot $$$!

I'm not sure from your post whether the vehicle is still in limp mode after the swap or it's just the P1722 code that's persistent. If it's the latter, clear the code and see if it comes back. Here's the Jaguar list decode for P1722. I've included P0721 as the P1722 'possible causes' cross references this even though the code may not be set.



This gives you an idea of where to start investigating other possible causes and you should take the discussion to the XK8/XKR forum where more other members with the same model will see it.
