Hi ... Jim in Pittsburgh, PA here... Never had a chance to intro myself even though I actually joined the site some time ago.
Restoring a dear old friend's pride & joy: a 1990 XJ-6 that his wife sold to me to ensure its' ongoing care & maintenance.
Sadly, it was sat sometime at an auto body shop awaiting JUST an expert auto-detailing & buffing. Now, though it's at my mechanic's, baffling him as the transmission's stuck in that "Safety/Creeper Gear" mode.
All the parts he''s bought to get to the bottom of the problem haven't been the fix, so he's ended up returning them as they've been unneeded!
Real puzzler & sad not to have it running fine & on the road.
Even the hit-list fix in the e-book manual has yet to yield a solution.
Keeping fingers crossed though!

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
